Newsflash!!! For the first time in their triumphant, nearly five decade-long career, KANSAS perform their milestone album "Point Of Know Return" with full power in all its glory.
The progressive pioneers present the classic, which has sold over seven million copies to date, complete from the breathtaking beginning to the epic end. And as if that wasn't enough, there are many more hits, rarely played songs and fan favourites to experience live. A dream come true for all progressive, melodic, classic and hard rockers when the "Point Of know Return Anniversary Tour", which is extremely successful and popular in America, stops 14 times in Europe and of course in Germany. Founding member Richard Williams is full of anticipation: “It’s been a while since the band has been able to perform in Europe, where we have some very passionate fans. We are excited to take the Point of Know Return Anniversary Tour across Europe. Not only will they hear us perform that album in its entirety, along with other hits and deep cuts, but they will be the first fans to hear some of the songs from our upcoming studio album performed live.”
As early as 1974, KANSAS released their epochal debut and redefined the progressive rock genre, not to say for generations to come. KANSAS not only defined classic rock in the 70s, but also shaped this style and sound until today. In 1976, the band followed suit and with the album "Leftoverture" and the release of "Carry On Wayward Son", they took it to the next level in terms of ambition and atmosphere. The energetic single reaches gold status and stays in the charts for countless weeks. 1978 then another classic coup! With "Dust In The Wind" from the mega album "Point Of Know Return" KANSAS release an eternally valid classic, which has been a monolithic piece of pop culture ever since. Thanks to the harmonic violin, the hymnic epic belongs to the classic rock hymns with the highest recognition value. Absolutely everyone can at least hum the melody.
Over the decades, the legendary musicians have not only made a name for themselves with strong singles and longplayers like 1979 "Monolith", but also with their live performances. The progressive heroes of KANSAS deliver top-class concerts that are a lot of fun despite all their complexity. The shows are coherent and coherently structured like only few rock bands. Overflowing instrumental bliss and solo excursions of the individual members are always followed by catchy vocal passages and of course classics like "Dust In The Wind" or "Carry On Wayward Son". Pleasant hardness alternates with hymnic melodies. The use of the trademark violin alone inevitably drives the energy and emotion level up.
After a longer release break new ingenious material was published in 2016 with "The Prelude Implicit". The 15th studio album shows the timeless brilliance of KANSAS and its relevance in the present. The work enters high in the German, Swiss and American charts. KANSAS will release their 16th studio album in 2020. The current line-up will finally return beyond the 'big pond' again soon. In October and November 2020 KANSAS will come to Germany for several shows. The band includes the two founding members Richard Williams on guitar and Philipp Ehart on drums, and have already proven themselves in top form in 2017 when they toured the USA for the 40th anniversary of "Leftoverture". The live album "Leftoverture Live & Beyond" speaks a clear language.
Classics from this masterpiece are of course also presented this time by singer Ronnie Platt and David Ragsdale on the indispensable violin, Zak Rizvi on guitar, Billy Greer on bass and Tom Brislin on keyboards. But the band, which is perfectly set up with several keyboards and without exception great singers, also celebrates the progressive rock evergreen "Point Of Know Return" in full length. From the opening title track over "Dust In The Wind" to the closing track with "Hopelessly Human" the tension is withheld. Drama, virtuosity, progressiveness and classic rock of the most legendary kind are on the program when KANSAS enter the stage.
